it’s velvet ropes, huge speakers, smoke filled booths. ice buckets constantly full. effortlessly suave cigarettes barely staying on the disdainful lips that hold them. lights refracting from dusty glass tables, mirrored walls. future legends being created…..

but it did actually remind me of ‘fire & ice’ by chris barbosa. the track that, once brenda greene dropped her vocal (& changed her name), defined a genre.

imagine aliens invented x. it’s the purest x ever. creatively, they’d make ’let the music play’ and it would be their ultimate battle weapon.
they’d get in the ufo for a spin, hear the track in the vehicle, pootle down to us. hover over a bit, assessing if we’re ready for it. then dreyfuss would rock up with his oversized 9v powered simon/jeanmicheljarresays thing built from tandy, meccano and fuzzy felt. ”wait…..i know what to do…..” press, press, lean behind, furrow brow, forcefully wiggle lead…
