Or as John Peel introduced them once (his birthday party on radio1?) – “The House. Of Looove.”
Not impacting as it should’ve over Christmas was sudden & frenzied (in HOL terms) release of a major deluxe edition AND the announcement of a brand new album. I half expected Guy Chadwick tweeting a photo of him & Bickers, thumbs-up & laughing in a studio, breezily captioned “In.The. CAN!! xx G&T!”
A favourite clip while we catch up…
If you’re of a certain age or just haven’t spent the Boots Record Tokens Auntie Marge sent for Christmas, ‘The House Of Love’ Deluxe Edition is worth a punt.
It’s 3CDs, the ClassicIndependentGuitarAlbum™ (still 32 minutes long, no “skits”), all the Creation singles, a shedload of rare, demo & unreleased stuff, new sleeve notes and that amazing front cover shot.
Then the new album – ‘She Paints Words In Red’. Having been hurt many times by the ‘new album’ I’m not getting overly giddy yet, but it’s absolutely something to look forward to. If you’ve not already got something to look forward to on March 25 2013.
To aptly complete the picture another indie stalwart/survivor – Cherry Red – are metaphorically faxing the presell sheets & generally organising this hoo-hah….
